CARROLLTON, Ga.- UWG travels to Birmingham, Alabama on February 7 for the UAB Invitational as the indoor season continues with the ASUN Indoor Championships right around the corner. Fans can follow the meet through the live results link attached above as the Wolves compete in Alabama.
Sprints & hurdles
The sprint group is led by school record holder
Gavin Barlow, who enters the 60m at 6.80. He is joined by
Jackson Connors, who brings in a 7.23 mark. In the 200m,
Trey Campbell sets the pace for UWG with a 21.39 entry time, with
Matt Strickland at 21.76 and
David Akinyemi at 22.75.
Strickland returns in the 400m where his 47.57 leads the Wolves, while Ricky Griffin follows at 55.43. Over the hurdles, Landon Chovanic leads the group at 8.43, followed by Ishmeal Neblett at 8.60 and Kellen Andrews at 8.86.
Distance
Conner Changizi represents UWG in the 600m with an entry of 1:33.89.
Hyrum Smartt heads the 800m lineup with a 1:58.68 mark, with
Gabriel Wrye close behind at 1:59 and
Parker Ferguson entering at 2:04.90. In the mile,
Abenezer Woellore brings a 4:20.71 entry time to lead the mile runners, while
Aiden Thaxton checks in at 4:34.06 and
Tyler Jones follows at 4:43.48.
The 3000m group features Noah Anderson at 8:43.29, alongside Solomon Johnson and Alex Njoroge, who both enter with 8:55 marks to round out UWG's distance rotation.
Jumps & throws
Isaiah McMichael anchors the high jump with a 2.00m clearance, with
Matthew Brunner adding a 1.80m mark. In the pole vault, record holder
Kareem Nazim enters at 4.61m, while
Connor McLain brings in a 4.78m clearance.
Blake Davis, the UWG record holder in both the long jump and triple jump, both events. He enters the long jump at 6.09m and the triple jump at 14.38m. Ricky Griffin adds a 5.95m mark in the long jump, and Godsfavor Adenuga enters the triple jump at 14.26m.
The throws are led by Nicholas Lane in the weight throw at 15.04m, with Darius Mcneal following at 13.76m. In the shot put, Aiden Willis posts a 10.45m entry, while Conner Changizi adds a 10.02m mark.
Relays
UWG brings a 4x400 relay squad made up of Campbell, Chovanic, Brunner, and Strickland, entering Birmingham with a 3:12.71 time.
The Wolves are led by Head Coach Ryan Bailey alongside sprints, jumps, and hurdles coach Shanicka Dyson-Woodman, pole vault coach Shannon Riley, throws coach Robert Brown, and graduate assistants Phelani Maduwa and Olivia Fulford.
