DOTHAN, Ala. - Day one of the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships is in the books and the UWG women's golf team sits in ninth place after a 13-over 301 in Friday's first round at Dothan Country Club.

UWG is just three shots outside of the top-five and nine shots off of third place. North Florida, the round one leader, is the only team under par after a blistering 10-under 278.

The Wolves were led by the duo of Emma Baier and Sophie Dhaliwal on day one with first-round 74. Playing in her first ASUN Championship round ever, the freshman Dhaliwal made one birdie, 14 pars, and avoided the big number with just three bogeys. Baier was two-under through six holes and made the turn at one-under and got back to two-under with a birdie at the 10th. She played the final eight holes at four-over and is tied with Dhaliwal for 17th place.

Junior Hannah Barrett opened her Championships with a 75 and played the final 13 holes at two-under par after a rocky start. Barrett started with a double bogey, then made bogey at four and another double at five before making an eagle three on the par-five sixth. She sits in 25th place with 36 holes to play.

It was an opening round 78 for Erin Sullivan. The senior shot 39 with three bogeys on the front side before rolling in a pair of birdies on the back nine to also card a 39. Sullivan is in 47th place.
