Wolves Into Eighth Place After Day Two of ASUN Championships

DOTHAN, Ala. - The UWG women's golf team improved their team score by one stroke on Saturday in the second round of the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships, shooting a 300 at Dothan Country Club. 

Junior Hannah Barrett had the low round of the day for the Wolves, shooting an even par 72 that featured four birdies. The Wolves started their Saturday on hole 10, and Barrett turned in two-over before playing the front side of DCC in two under to get back to even and three-over for the tournament. Barrett sits in 17th with 18 holes to play. 

Both Emma Baier and Sophie Dhaliwal shot 74 on Saturday. Dhaliwal was consistent on her opening nine, shooting even par with a birdie and bogey. She then made back-to-back bogeys at two and three before an Eagle at the fourth. Baier made three birdies on the day and the duo is in 22nd place. 

Keira Wolf was subbed into the lineup for round two and shot an 80 with one birdie while Erin Sullivan also made one birdie and carded an 82. Sullivan is in 51st place individually. 

The Wolves climbed one spot in the leaderboard and is now tied with North Alabama for eighth. UNF, who leads the event by 28 strokes, shot an ASUN record for the lowest second round score with a 270. 

UWG will play the final round tomorrow from Dothan Country Club.
