BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UWG men's golf team opened play in their third tournament of the fall on Sunday, shooting a 297 in the first round of the GMAC Invitational at Inverness Country Club. 

Thomas Romani led the Wolves with a 73, making three birdies and finishing three-over on the par 70 layout at Inverness. Romani is in a 40th place tie. 

The duo of Hayden Canary and Dallas Inch each shot rounds of 74 on Sunday. Each made three birdies on their round and they begin day two in a 49th-place tie. 

JP Groat opened play with a 76 while Reid Rockett shot an 80. Groat is in 63rd place while Rockett is in 75th. 

As a team, UWG is tied for 12th. The second round is set for tomorrow with UWG teeing off of hole 10 at 10:10 a.m. EST.
