Baseball This Week: Wolves host Hurricanes, Dragon

Carrollton, Ga. - After a tough weekend against Augusta State, the West Georgia Wolves return to action on Thursday at home against Georgia Southwestern and then wrap up a weekend series against Tiffin.

The Wolves are hosting a Georgia Southwestern team that is coming off a weekend sweep of Saint Leo University. The Hurricanes are coming into town featuring a lineup with two PBC All-Tournament players: middle infielder Beau Parker and left-handed pitcher Jody Sellars. Last season the Hurricanes swept the season series, but the new and improved Wolves look to avenge those feats.

To conclude a dynamic weekend at West Georgia, the Wolves will play a Great Lake Intercollegiate opponent the Tiffin Dragons. The Wolves took two- of- three from the Dragons last season scoring a total of 23 runs in the two wins. West Georgia will look to continue the win streak against Tiffin as they bring in the 13th and 14th ranked players from Ohio NCAA Division II.

West Georgia Offense
Although the Wolves struggled this past weekend, West Georgia as a team collectively is hitting .280 and is led by junior second basemen Stuart Drew with a .526 batting average. He leads the team in hits with 20 and is tied with Andy Marinelli in RBI's with 9.

West Georgia Pitching
The UWG pitching staff looks to bounce back after a tough series on mound against Augusta State, issuing a total of 16 walks. Now the bright side is opponents are just hitting .234 against the Wolves led by starting pitcher Brandon Crumbley with a 3.18 ERA. He has a record of 2-0 and opposing hitters are just hitting .175 at the plate.
