Carrollton, GA - The Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes spoiled West Georgia's first night game of the season Thursday night, scoring five first-inning runs en route to an 8-1 victory at Cole Field.

Walker White# to the hill to start the game, but his night would end in short fashion as the Hurricanes scored five times in the top of the first. With four runs across, UWG head coach #

Brandon Crumbley# to the stop bleeding.
Crumbley worked 6.1 innings in relief, allowing three runs on six hits. He struck out three batters and walked four.
West Georgia would answer in the bottom half of the first, scoring their only run on the night. Second basemen #

After the Wolves bottom half of the first, Hurricane starter Trent Franzago settled down and silenced the Wolves bats. Franzago pitched four innnings, gave up three hits, and struck out six West Georgia batters.
West Georgia will look to end a four-game losing streak this weekend as they play the Tiffin Dragons. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at Cole Field as a part of Dynamite Day at West Georgia. .
