Carrollton, GA - A six-run eighth inning from the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters proved to be the difference on Wednesday afternoon, as the West Georgia Wolves fell by a 12-7 count in the second game of a midweek series.

The Wolves picked up seven runs on 15 hits in Wednesday's game and used that offensive outburst to take a 7-4 lead in the game, but the Railsplitters scored eight runs over the course of the final two innings to take the victory.

Eight of the nine offensive starters for the Wolves had a hit on the afternoon, with the lone hitless player, #Bradford Mattox#, picking up an RBI on a sacrifice fly. Senior catcher #David Buchanan# had the biggest afternoon, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored. First baseman #Andy Marinelli# was 2-for-4 with three RBI to lead the run generation for the Wolves.

On the mound, UWG starter #Brandon Crumbley# worked 4.2 innings, giving up three earned runs on six hits. The freshman struggled with his control on the afternoon, collecting five walks in addition to two strikeouts. Junior #Jarrod Parker# took the loss after giving up four runs on just two hits in the top of the eighth.

The Wolves have seven days off until the next game, which comes next Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. against Reinhardt.
