Jackson, TN – The West Georgia Wolves welcomed back Jared Slaven to the mound here on Sunday afternoon. Led by a strong, seven-inning effort from the senior right-hander, UWG pounded out a 16-2, run rule win over the Lambuth Eagles in the rubber game of their weekend series.
Slaven, who had been sidelined with injury since the Valdosta State series four weeks ago, was outstanding in his return. He worked seven innings, surrendering but one earned run, while striking out seven to push his record on the season to 2-4.
Sunday's win moves the Wolves to 13-23 on the season, while Lambuth fell to 10-26.
West Georgia returns to action Wednesday with a visit to Alabama and a game vs. former Gulf South Conference member Montevallo. GSC East action resumes for the Wolves Saturday when they travel to Livingston to face West Alabama.
