Baseball blasts Reinhardt in midweek action

Waleska, GA - The run continued here Tuesday evening, as the West Georgia Wolves pounded Reinhardt by a 12-5 count, winning their seventh game in the past 10.

The Wolves came into Tuesday's game riding high after winning a Gulf South Conference series on the road at West Alabama last weekend. It also closed out a 10-game road swing for the Wolves, in which West Georgia entered the string without a road victory on the year.

West Georgia opened the game with two runs in the top of the first, but by the third inning, the two teams were neck-and-neck at 3-3. In the fifth, both teams scored a pair of runs, but the Wolves shut the door after that, scoring seven runs in the next three frames to close out the victory.

As a team, the Wolves pounded out 13 hits and had 10 RBI in the game. West Georgia concludes the road swing with a 16-25 record overall and comes into this weekend's games with a 3-11 record in the Gulf South Conference East Division.

West Georgia returns home for a big weekend on Friday against Alabama-Huntsville. In Friday's game, head coach Skip Fite plans to honor the 1998 Division II College World Series team, followed by Senior Day on Saturday.
