Wolves Get Win in 12th inning
The second game of the doubleheader against the Dragons was supposed to go only seven innings, instead it took five extra innings to decide a victor.
The Wolves finally got their break in the bottom of the 12
th. The bases were loaded with #
Galen Smith# on third and #Gabe Herman# at the plate. A routine ground ball was hit to the third baseman, who was already playing in on the grass, and he fielded the ball and made a throw to home. The ball short-hopped the catcher, who bobbled it and as soon as he was about to get control, Smith slid hard into the catcher's lower half and the ball fell free, ending the marathon.
#
Alex Wilson# got the win today in relief. This wouldn't have been possible if it was not for the superb pitching by starter #
Seth McClure# and reliever #
Randall Wright# to only give up one run combined in many innings of work.
The Wolves next game is at Montevallo on February 22 at 2:00 PM. This will be the Wolves first road game of the 2012 season.
