Carrollton, GA - The UWG Baseball team (6-4) continued their perfect defense Sunday afternoon as they came away with an 8-1 win over the Norse of Northern Kentucky (2-5).
#
Seth McClure# (1-1) got the win for the Wolves while throwing a complete game. McClure scattered seven hits and gave up just one run through nine innings of work and struck out seven batters. McClure finessed his way through this game, keeping his pitch count under 100 and letting his defense do the work.
Early on in the game, the Wolves had no problem getting runners on-base, but the problem was hitting when runners were in scoring position. UWG left nine runners on-base through the first four innings of the game and 13 base runners total.
Leading the Wolves with multiple hits was #
Brett Wright#, #
Galen Smith#, and #
Garrett May#. May had a huge three-run homerun in the bottom of the fifth to put the Wolves up 4-0. The Wolves would score one more in the bottom of the sixth and three more runs in the bottom of the seventh.
