Carrollton, GA - An offensive explosion erupted in Valdosta, Ga. on Saturday afternoon, as the West Georgia Wolves fell to the Valdosta State Blazers 3-0 in Gulf South Conference play.
Offense was the name of the game in this one, as both teams hit well over .300 for the game, including a .411 hitting percentage from the Blazers. The Wolves had 41 kills in the match with just 14 errors and VSU countered with 49 kills and just 12 errors.
The Wolves jumped out to a 15-10 lead early in the first set before Valdosta State came storming back. VSU took the lead for the first time after West Georgia was on set point twice, as the Wolves led 24-22 late in the set after a #

In the second set, VSU vaulted out to a 20-8 lead and never looked back, eventually winning the set 25-12. In the final set, West Georgia led at 21-20, but the Blazers outscored the Wolves 5-2 to take the match with a 25-23 victory.

Amanda Miles# each had 12 kills to lead the UWG offensive effort on the afternoon. The loss drops the Wolves to 12-13 on the season and 7-8 in GSC play with three matches left on the schedule. First up is a the final road trip of the regular season on Tuesday evening at West Alabama before the Wolves return home next weekend against Christian Brothers and Union.
