Carrollton, GA - The UWG Wolves hosted the Young Harris Mountain Lions this afternoon in what was a tough game for the Wolves. Young Harris came away with a 13-4 victory after accumulating nine of those runs in the first two innings.
Young Harris racked up 19 hits in the nine inning game, while UWG only had six. #
Jonathon Black# got roughed up early in the game surrendering six earned runs in just one third of an inning.
Even though West Georgia got roughed up in the top half of the first inning, they rebounded back with three runs in the bottom of the inning. It started when #
Jake Shirley# was hit by a pitch, followed by #
Dylan Coleman# who singled into right field. #
John Mark Rhodes# came up later in the inning and singled into left field picking up two RBIs.
#T.J. Eifert# also picked up an RBI in the inning as Rhodes scored on a ground out to short stop.
UWG baseball now looks ahead to this weekend against Paine College. On Saturday, the Wolves play a doubleheader with the first game starting at 3:00PM and with the second game to follow.
The Wolves will wrap up the weekend series with the final game against Paine on Sunday at 1:00PM.
