Carrollton, GA – A second UWG comeback fell short Wednesday afternoon in South Carolina, as the Wolves fell victim to the Coker Cobras in midweek non-conference action.

Nolan Huber# started on the mound for the 3:00 p.m. game but he did not last long and was pulled after a first inning where he surrendered six hits and allowing three earned runs. T.J. Giczkowski singled through the right side, scoring the first run of the game. Fico Kondla came up later in the inning, hitting a two out double that scored Ernie Kirkwood and extended the Cobras lead to 2-0.

Jonathon Black# cut the bleeding in the bottom of the second, coming in to pitch four innings and giving up two earned runs. The top of the second was also a tough inning on the mound for West Georgia pitching as they allowed two more runs to score. Shea Bell picked up the first RBI in the inning when he singled up the middle scoring second baseman Taylor Martin. Bell later came into score off a single into right field to make the game 4-0.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Cobras added two more runs off the bat of catcher Frank Suarez. Suarez hit a double into left center field with two outs in the inning stretching the Cobra's lead to 6-0.
The Wolves bats came to life in the top of the eighth when #

Blake McLemore# crossed the plate on a throwing error from the pitcher, bringing the game a bit closer making it 7-2.

Cameron Eison# scored on another throwing error later in the inning by a Coker pitcher, and Jackson came in on sacrifice fly from #

West Georgia now moves to 17-10 on the year and still remains 6-3 in conference. The Wolves next game is this weekend in a three game series against conference opponent Union University in Jackson, TN.
