Carrollton, GA - The University of West Georgia baseball team took on North Georgia College & State this evening in ugly conditions. The game kicked off at 5:00 p.m. right as the rain started to fall. In what was close to an epic battle, the Wolves fell to the Saints 7-5 in a ten inning game.

Seth McClure# to start the game. McClure pitched well, but he did surrender the first two runs of the game in the second inning when Devin Gearhart singled to center as UWG shortstop #
Dylan Coleman# took a bad hop that allowed the ball to scoot into center and score two runs for North Georgia.

Blake McLemore# helped add one of those runs back in the bottom of the third inning when he singled through the left side, scoring leadoff man #

McClure struggled in the top of the fourth inning as three runs came into score. #
Randall Wright# came in for relief of McClure to close out the inning. However, after the top half of the fourth, the Saints led 5-1.
The Wolves had a big inning of their own in the bottom of the fifth when they also put up three runs on the scoreboard. McLemore tallied his second RBI of the game when he singled down the left field line scoring Coleman from second. Designated hitter #

Evan Hester# from third base off of ground out to first. The Wolves trailed 5-4 after the inning.
West Georgia scored their fourth unanswered run of the game in the bottom of the ninth when Coleman came through with a clutch two out hit to bring Shirley in, tying the game 5-5 and forcing extra innings.
The Wolves battled all night long, but they came up just short as the Saints scored two runs in the top of the tenth to win the game 7-5.
Saints pitcher Brandon Agar was credited with the win and moves to 5-4 on the year. #
Alex Allen# came away with the loss and moves to 0-2 on the year.
The University of West Georgia is now 19-15 as a team and prepares to face off against West Florida this weekend in a tough GSC weekend series.
