UWF Batters to Watch
The West Florida baseball team is hitting just under .300 on the year, but have five everyday players hitting over that .300 mark. A player that UWG pitching should keep their eye on is the 6-1 junior Kaleb Barlow. Barlow is leading the team with a .376 batting average and has belted six home runs on the year. He can most definitely knock the ball around with a .675 slugging percentage. The Argonauts have another power hitter in Drew Prichard who is hitting .336. Prichard has slammed five home runs and leads the team with 31 RBIs. Whoever is behind the plate for the Wolves should also be aware when Dustin Saulmon is on the bases. He is a speed demon with 22-of-24 stolen bases this year.
UWG Batters to Watch
The Argonauts should be prepared for #
Blake McLemore# who has been the Wolves hottest hitter as of late. McLemore is hitting .336 and is leading the team in hits with 40. McLemore can also be a pest on the base path as he is 12-for-14 in stolen base attempts. #
Evan Hester# is always a player opposing teams should know about and be careful pitching to. Hester is hitting just under .300, but is leading the team in doubles with 13 and RBIs with 22.
UWF Pitchers to Watch
The Wolves will have to be patient and selective at the plate against West Florida's pitching. The Argonauts have two very reliable starting pitchers on the mound for them. Drew Bryson has been West Florida's go to guy thus far with a 3-1 record through 44 innings. Bryson also has a 29-12 strikeout to walk ratio. Another man the Wolves will likely see in the game is Dayan Rodriguez. Rodriguez is 2-1 on the year with a 3.44 ERA. Opposing batters are only hitting .275 against him this year. The Wolves will also see Bobby Parker on the mound. It is unknown whether he may start one of the games or come out of the bullpen, but Parker is 3-2 on the year with opponents hitting only .263 against him.
UWG Pitchers to Watch
West Florida can expect to see West Georgia's best on the mound in the first game of the series with #
Jamie Sexton# on the mound. Sexton is coming off a loss to Valdosta State last weekend, but he is still 6-2 on the year. He has a remarkable 1.47 ERA and five complete games this year. Sexton also has a 58-to-ten strikeout to walk ratio and has only allowed fourteen runs through 74 innings. UWF can also expect to see lefty #
Jonathon Black# in the series. Black has appeared in eleven games this year and has a 3-2 record. #
Cody Skinner# may also start in a game this weekend. Skinner has a 4.89 ERA and is coming off a win to Valdosta State last weekend improving his record to 2-3 on the year. He can be dominant on the mound at times with a 25-to-8 strikeout to walk ratio.
