Carrollton, GA - The University of West Georgia baseball team prepares to travel to take on the Young Harris Mountain Lions Tuesday, April 9 at 5:00 p.m.
Young Harris at a Glance
The Mountain Lions are an even .500 this season with a record of 17-17. Young Harris plays much better at home this season with a 10-5 record compared to a 7-12 away record. The team is coming off taking two of three games from North Georgia in this past weekend series. The Mountain Lions are hitting .295 as a team this year. Their most dangerous hitter the team is Jake Morrow who is leading the team with a .348 batting average. Morrow is also leading the team with 36 runs scored and thirteen doubles. He has more than just gap power as and he also has cleared the fence eight times this season. Zach Bricknell is also another batter with major power with eleven home runs and 42 RBIs on the year. When they get on base the Wolves catching staff should be aware of the threat to steal. The team as a whole is 37-43 in stolen base attempts this year. Spenser Thomas is a perfect 10-for-10, and Adam Moore is also a flawless 9-for-9.

The Wolves hitting has been up and down this year varying with each game. The Wolves have three regulars hitting above .300 this year. One of the players is leadoff hitter #

Blake McLemore# with a .341 batting average. McLemore has scored the most runs on the team with thirty, leads the team with a .426 slugging percentage, and is a tough player to strikeout having fanned only six times this season.
Young Harris Pitchers to Watch
The Wolves could face a multitude of starting pitchers that Young Harris could throw, but a likely starter on the mound may be Travis Donahoo. Donahoo is 2-0 on the year with a 2.43 ERA. He has started six games this year and opposing teams are hitting .263 against him. Taylor Topping is another candidate to start on Tuesday. Topping is 1-3 on the year with a 5.47 ERA and just about has a strikeout an inning. Oliver Pratt is a reliable arm out of the bullpen as he is 1-0
with a 2.58 ERA.
UWG Pitchers to Watch
West Georgia will likely go whole staff in the game on Tuesday and split up time on the mound between their pitchers. #
Cody Skinner# may be one of the pitchers Young Harris sees on the mound. Skinner has a 2-4 record this year and 5.94 ERA. He shows major command on the mound with 26 strikeouts to just nine walks. #
Seth McClure# is another possible player who could pitch in the weekday game. McClure only has one start on the year, but he could help the team push through the weekday game and be more rested up for Alabama-Huntsville this weekend.
Previous Matchup
The last time these two teams played was on February 20, and Young Harris got to the Wolves early in the game. The Mountain Lions were able to rack up nineteen hits in the game and score nine runs in the first two innings. The Wolves fell in the game at Cole Field in a final score of 13-4.
