Wolves fall in Sunday rubber game

Carrollton, GA - After splitting games one and two on Saturday at Cole Field, Georgia Regents took game three on Sunday, knocking off UWG 6-1 in front of the home crowd.

Jamie Sexton pitched well enough to win for most of his 6.1 inning performance. Sexton gave up three earned runs over six frames, before he got knocked out in the seventh inning and found himself on the wrong end of a 5-1 game.

GRU's Frank Warren, on the other hand, about as well as anyone could ask for the Jaguars, giving up only the one run on four hits over 7.0 innings. The UWG bats never woke up, as the Wolves got a run in the third inning on a JoJo Underwood fielder's choice tied the game 1-1, and never got much more, only getting four hits over the final six innings.

The Wolves got great relief work from Chase Riemer who pitched the final two innings of the game, giving up only one hit. As a team, UWG left seven runners on base and hit a combined 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

The Wolves return to the road this week for a midweek game against Stillman on Tuesday, February 11th. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
