Carrollton, GA - The UWG Baseball team will host Conference rival Lee this weekend at Cole Field. Due to the possiblity of rain on Sunday, head coach Skip Fite announced that one game will be played Friday, February 27th at 3pm and the other two games will be on Saturday starting at 12pm.

During the season so far, the Wolves have outscored their opponets by 47 runs. UWG has scored 42 runs in the first three innings of games while their opponets have only scored 15 in the first three innings. The early runs are important for the team and help set the tone for the game. When UWG is winning after six innings, they have not lost going 8-0. On the other hand, when they are trailing after six innings, the team is 0-4. If the Wolves do not score early, runs could be hard to come by as they have only scored 17 runs past the six inning.

Over the last few games, Payton Mann has stepped it up at the plate raising his batting average to .378 and driving in 14 runs which is tied for second on the team. Mann also hit his first homerun of the season against UWA and he leads the team in doubles with seven. He is second on the team in on base percentage with an ob% of .462. The Wolves catcher has already accumulated 17 hits on the season and that is tied for first on the team.

Lee at a Glance
The Flames have started the season out very strong with a record of 11-1-1 and currently lead the Gulf South Conference. They are coming off two wins against Bellarmine University and their trip to Carrollton will be the first road trip of the year for the Flames. Leading the team in hitting is Junior Trenton Hill and Senior Siosi Poti. Both have similair numbers hitting .318 with 14 hits each and have combined for 13 RBI. Leading the Flames pitching staff is Dustin Lawson who has pitched 24.0 innings with an ERA of 1.13.
