Carrollton, GA - The UWG Baseball team continued their hot start to the season with a shutout victory against the Montevallo Falcons Friday afternoon at Cole Field in the first of a three-game series this weekend.

The Wolves are now 4-0 on the season and have two more home games left before they start their first road trip. The starting pitcher for the Wolves, Matthew Norton, was stellar on Friday afternoon as he picked up his second win of 2015. Norton pitched deep into the ballgame, going 6.1 innings and allowing no runs to the Falcons, surrendering just five hits on the day.

The Wolves started out strong, scoring in the first on a sacrafice fly by right fielder Garrett Hayes. Two innings later in the third, the Wolves struck again when Tyler Hutch scored on a wild pitch. UWG poured on three more runs in the fifth highlighted by catcher Payton Mann's two RBI double down the left field line. Shortly after the double by Mann, Drew Eady capped off the scoring with a sacrifice fly to right field that scored Hayes. The team collected seven hits on the day and also had two walks.

Hutch had a great game setting the tone for the offense. He scored three of the five runs for the Wolves as well as having two hits and a stolen base. Among his hits was his first and the Wolves' third triple of the season. The other hero for the UWG offense was Mann who had two hits and two RBI to lead the team.

Norton was spectacular in his second start for the team going six and a third innings. He had four strikouts for the game and got into an early groove against the Falcons. A.J. Sunstrom replaced Norton and he was also very good, preserving the Wolves first shutout of the season. Sunstrom pitched two and two thirds innings and allowed zero hits.
