Carrollton, GA - The UWG women's soccer team started the season 1-1 this past weekend with a pair of road games. The Wolves continue the season with their third straight road game on Tuesday evening, facing off against the Clayton State Lakers at 7:00 p.m.
The Wolves began the season with a 1-0 win over Emmanuel on Thursday night, and then fell to Limestone on Saturday, by a score of 3-0.
Susana Abundiz scored the lone goal on Thursday to give the Wolves the win, as the Wolves pitched their first shutout since 2013.
West Georgia faced Clayton State in Carrollton last year as the Lakers took that match, 3-2. On Tuesday, the Wolves will look to knock off Clayton State for the first time since 2009. The Wolves won a 4-1 game in Carrollton, that season.
CSU opened their season with a 1-1 start against Gulf South Conference competition. The Lakers beat Union 3-1 to open the season, but fell to Christian Brothers on Saturday, by a final of 2-1.
