Carrollton, GA - The West Georgia Wolves baseball team dropped its second straight game on Saturday in walk off fashion. An eleventh inning single by Davis Elliot of UNA pushed the winning run across for the Lions, giving West Georgia their second loss of the year.
How It Happened
The Wolves scored early as
Caleb Lopes pushed
Artemis Kadkhodaian across on a single in the first inning. Starting pitcher
Matthew Norton cruised through the first two innings, giving up only two hits.
The Wolves struck again in the third. The inning was started by a
Chase Waters double. He advanced to third on a wild pitch.
Caleb Lopes was hit by a pitch before
Garrett Hayes doubled scoring both Waters and Lopes. That gave the Wolves a 3-0 lead heading to the fourth.
The bottom of the fourth was the first time that UNA scored. Taylor Hayes singled scoring a run. The next scoring didn't take place until the top of the seventh.
Drew Eady began the inning with a single. He advanced to second and later scored on a UNA error, giving the Wolves a 4-1 lead in the seventh.
The Lions began their scoring in the eighth. UNA's Kiser hit a solo homerun. After a Hall single, Hubbuch hit a two-run homerun to tie the game in the eighth. The winning run came across the plate in the eleventh on a single by Davis Elliot.
Chase Waters was 2-4 in the game.
Garrett Hayes had a hit and two RBIs in the game.
Matthew Norton threw 7.2 innings, giving up three runs.
