Carrollton, GA - It was a Sunday to forget for the West Georgia Wolves baseball team as they fell in the Sunday series finale to the Alabama Huntsville Chargers by a final score of 14-6 at Cole Field.

The Wolves who lost their second straight Gulf South Conference series move to 9-4 overall and 2-4 in league play following Sunday's loss.

The day began with the Wolves' starter Matthew Norton giving up a two-run homer to UAH's catcher AJ Walden in the top of the first, giving the Chargers the first lead of the day. The Wolves then responded with a run in each of the first three innings, including a home run from Garrett Hayes, as they reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the third.

In the fourth, the Chargers would strike for three runs on two hits chasing Norton from the game. An inning later, UAH would break the game open with another three spot in the fifth, led by a leadoff homer from Walden, his second of the game, this time off of Dalton Reagin.

West Georgia struck back with some life in the bottom of the fifth as Tyler Hutch started the frame with a leadoff double off of the wall. After Ben Utley drew a walk, and Lopes reached on a fielder's choice, UWG's first baseman Dalton Rogers would hit a three run home run, his first of the season, to bring the Wolves back, trailing 8-6.

The Chargers would add two runs in each of the sixth, eighth, and ninth innings as UWG's bats would go silent, giving UAH a 14-6 win on Sunday and a series win.

Garrett Hayes was the offensive spark for the Wolves, going 3-for-4 on the day with an RBI on the solo homer. Rogers drove in the three runs, but was 1-for-5 on the day. In the leadoff spot, Tyler Hutch was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and also stole a base.

The Wolves have a week long break before their next action as they go on the road for a three-game series with the Lee Flames next weekend. UWG will play a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday before a final game on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
