Carrollton, GA - The West Georgia Wolves baseball team ended their series with the Pfeiffer Falcons with a bang, winning game three by a score of 12-0. That win moves the Wolves to 4-0 on the season, as the Falcons fall to 1-5 on the year.
How It Happened
The first three innings of the contest were quiet as both pitchers were dominant early.
Brandon Goldsmith, who started for the Wolves, threw six innings giving up only two hits and striking out three.
The scoring for the game started in the fourth inning as
Drew Eady walked with the bases loaded to score the first run of the day. The Wolves then exploded in the fifth inning for seven runs.
Tyler Hutch started the inning with a double, followed by a double by
Artemis Kadkhodaian to score Hutch.
Dalton Rogers singled to drive in Kadkhodaian. After a double by
Caleb Lopes and a walk by
Payton Mann,
Drew Eady singled to right to drive in two runs.
Ben Utley then singled and drove in driving in
Payton Mann.
Chase Waters and
Tyler Hutch singled and drove in two more runs to end the scoring in the fifth.
The Wolves added two more runs in the seventh when
Keith Buckhault drove in
Chase Waters on a single. The Wolves scored one more run when
Payton Mann was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, forcing in another run.
The eighth inning was another two-run inning for West Georgia.
Tyler Hutch was hit by a pitch, followed by an
Artemis Kadkhodaian single.
Keith Buckhault then drove a single to centerfield driving in two more runs. That ended the scoring on the day as
Tyler Gunnin came in and shut the door on the Falcons.
Tyler Hutch was 2-4 on the day with an RBI and three runs scored.
Artemis Kadkhodaian,
Caleb Lopes, and
Chase Waters all had three hits each.
Keith Buckhault and
Drew Eady led the Wolves with three RBIs a piece.
Ethan Hunter and
Dalton Reagin each pitched a hitless inning for West Georgia.
