Pensacola, FL - The bats went silent for the UWG baseball team on Sunday afternoon as the Wolves fell 4-0 to the West Florida Argonauts in Pensacola in game three of the series, dropping the final two games of the weekend.
The Wolves had only six hits on the day, with two each from seniors
Tyler Hutch and
Garrett Hayes.
Tritt Fennell got the start for West Georgia, pitching four innings on the day, giving up runs in the first and fourth innings before giving way to
Josh Morgan who pitched 1.2 innings, giving up two runs.
Mitchell Mannino threw 2.1 innings of relief on the day, giving up no runs and striking out three.
Along with the two hits each from Hutch and Hayes,
Chase Waters and
Cade Marlowe had the other two hits for the Wolves, who move to 16-8 on the year, while UWF improves to 16-11.
West Georgia now looks to a midweek contest against North Georgia on the road. The Wolves travel to Dahlonega, Ga. on Tuesday evening playing the Nighthawks in a 5 p.m. contest. UWG and UNG met last week for a game in Carrollton with the Wolves taking that game 12-10.
