Carrollton, GA - The West Georgia Wolves baseball team looks to sweep the season series with the North Georgia Nighthawks as they travel to Dahlonega, GA for midweek baseball. The Wolves enter the game looking to build some momentum as we head into the second half of the GSC season. West Georgia is 16-8 on the year, with a 7-8 record in the Gulf South Conference.
Last Matchup
The Wolves and Nighthawks met just last week in an offensive battle that ended with West Georgia coming out on top in a 12-10 game. West Georgia exploded for four homeruns in the game. They had 12 hits as a team.
North Georgia took an early lead in the last matchup, going up 6-2 through two innings of play.
Dalton Rogers started the scoring for the Wolves with a two-run homerun in the second inning.
West Georgia tied the game up in the fourth inning as
Artemis Kadkhodaian and
Cade Marlowe each hit a two-run homerun in the frame. For Marlowe it was his first career homerun, and for Kadkhodaian it was the first of two in the game.
North Georgia scored two runs in the fifth to regain the lead, but West Georgia took the lead for good in the bottom of the inning getting four more runs.
Garrett Hayes and
Dalton Rogers each had an RBI single in the inning, and
Cade Marlowe had an RBI double.
Artemis Kadkhodaian hit his second homerun in the eighth to finish the scoring for the Wolves.
