Carrollton, GA - The West Georgia Wolves baseball team looks to hold on to their winning momentum as they travel to Franklin Springs, GA to take on the Emmanuel College Lions in midweek baseball. The Wolves and Lions met in the first game of the season for either team, with UWG winning 17-0 on January 30. With a win, the Wolves can sweep the two-game season series with Emmanuel.

Wolves Last Weekend
West Georgia is coming of a weekend in which they took two out of three games from the Mississippi College Choctaws at Cole Field. Game one of the series was a 12-8 win for the Wolves. West Georgia had fifteen hits as a team.

West Georgia was down 5-0 in the first game before roaring back for the win, including a five run eighth inning to take the lead for good. Ben Utley and Matthew Pope were each 3-5 in the game. Dalton Rogers was 2-2 in the game with an RBI and two runs scored. Cade Marlowe added two hits and an RBI. Tyler Gunnin pitched a perfect ninth inning with three strikeouts.

Game two was a tough one for UWG as they fell 6-1 to the Choctaws, but they responded with a win in game three to take the series win. The Wolves got behind early once again, but were able to capitalize on a few errors by Mississippi College to set up timely hits from the Wolves.

Caleb Lopes was 2-3 in the game with three RBIs. Artemis Kadkhodaian went two for three in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Walker Borneman went 1-1 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Emmanuel at a Glance
The Lions are 3-27 so far in the 2016 season. The Lions are hitting .258 on the season, led by Trent Jones who has a .345 batting average. Jones also leads the team in RBIs with 18. Freshman Brady Burgess is hitting .310 for the Lions this season. The Emmanuel pitching staff has a team ERA of 9.36 this season. Brett Rivers leads the team with a 6.75 ERA.
