CARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia Wolves baseball team got back to their winning ways on Tuesday evening as they defeated the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes by a score of 9-0. The Wolves (34-12, 19-11 GSC) had sixteen hits in the game, with seven hits going for extra bases.
How It Happened
Artemis Kadkhodaian wasted no time giving an early lead to the UWG starter
TJ Watson as the junior second basemen took the first pitch he saw and hit it out of Cole Field for a leadoff home run and his ninth of the season.
Cade Marlowe and
Caleb Lopes followed that up with back-to-back singles and moved up one base when
Tyler Hutch singled. Marlowe then scored on a wild pitch.
The Wolves got a run in each of the next two innings as Marlowe drove in
Ben Utley in the second, and
Garrett Hayes hit his sixth home run of the season in the third inning.
Hutch and Hayes each drove in a run in the fifth inning on back-to-back two-out hits, stretching the lead to six.
Caleb Lopes hit his sixth home run of the year in the seventh inning, and the Wolves added one more run on a
Chase Waters single that scored
Dalton Rogers, making it a 9-0 game.
Mitchell Mannino pitched a scoreless ninth and the Wolves got the win 9-0.
Inside the Numbers
The Wolves hit three homeruns in the game, bringing their team total 44 on the season.
Artemis Kadkhodaian tied
Tyler Hutch for the team lead in homeruns with nine. For
Garrett Hayes and
Caleb Lopes it was their sixth homerun of the season, tying them with
Dalton Rogers for second on the team.

The Wolves now prepare for their final regular season Gulf South Conference series as they welcome the Union Bulldogs to Cole Field. Game one is set for Saturday at 2:00 p.m. EST, with game two to start approximately 30 minutes after game one. Game three will be Senior Day for the Wolves, with senior day festivities taking place before a 2:00 p.m. EST first pitch.
