Few pitchers in West Georgia's long and storied baseball history can match the career accomplishments of Jamie Sexton. His five-year numbers, which include a medical redshirt year, saw him set school records for career strikeouts, innings pitched, and games started. Sexton's biggest season came in 2013 when he posted a record of 10-4, had an earned run average of 1.95, and held opposing hitters to a batting average of .235. Sexton was a two-time All-Gulf South Conference selection, and his senior season included one of the rare moments in UWG history. On the morning of April 28, 2014, Sexton received his diploma after earning a degree in Special Education. Later that day in Jackson, Tenn., he pitched a complete game five-hitter in the Wolves' win over Union University in Gulf South Conference play. Jamie continues his baseball career today as a Georgia high school head coach.
