CARROLLTON, Ga. – As excitement continues to rise for the nearing return of UWG basketball from the holiday break on Saturday and the beginning of the spring semester, the program unveiled its promotional schedule for home games for January and February at The Coliseum. .
UWG Athletics is committed to providing The Best Fan Experience in Georgia while ensuring that all fans have a great time in a healthy and safe environment. At all home games during the month of January, the department will be collecting jackets, jeans, and blankets to provide for local homeless shelters.
Nine home outings headline the Wolves' promotional schedule through the remainder of the regular season, beginning with New Years Resolution Night on January 2 as UWG takes on the Tigers of West Alabama in a crucial Gulf South Conference matchup. To celebrate New Year's Resolution Night with UWG Basketball, fans are encouraged to kick off the month by taking in a game with their family by purchasing the Wolves Howliday Promo package that includes four tickets and four Chick-fil-A sandwiches. The first home games with students back on campus will feature the three main UWG colors for a
Spirit Month at each game, beginning on January 8 when the Wolves take on the Lee Flames. Playing against two teams that currently sit atop the standings in the Gulf South Conference, fans are encouraged to Wear White for the first athletic event of the spring semester. It is also All-Sports Camp Week, where all campers from the 2023 summer camp will be invited to the two games as we gear up for the release of the summer All-Sports Camp Calendar. Wednesday, January 10, fans are encouraged to Wear Red in a showdown against Delta State, sponsored by
Titleist Building Systems.
January 20 will be the
Welcome Back Bash with students given the chance to win up to $10,000 with various games on the floor. For the final spirit night sponsored by
SMI and
Cheers Fine Wine & Spirits, fans are encouraged to wear Blue, and the first 150 students in attendance will receive Blue Out Shirts courtesy of Ozier Apparel. For women's basketball at that game, it is camper's night, where all attendees from the Wolves Kid's Camp over the summer are offered free admission.
For the final two games of the month of January, UWG Athletics will team up with those who shape young minds at the collegiate and local level. January 24 will be the Wolves against Christian Brothers on UWG Faculty & Staff Appreciation night sponsored by
Advantage Office Solutions. It will also be
Carrollton Trojans Night with UWG Basketball, offering tickets to all students at Carrollton City Schools. Free tickets will be available for UWG Faculty & Staff and their families for that game. On January 31, West Florida enters The Coliseum on
Backboards & Blackboards Night sponsored by
McDonald's, as free admission is offered to all local teachers and their families.
The Wolves will be away for the next nearly three weeks, returning home on February 17 for the annual
UWG Basketball Alumni reunion and a Pink Out for Breast Cancer Awareness Night, presented by
D-Bat in Carrollton. Saturday afternoon, February 24 will bring another special day as UWG Athletics honors the heroic First Responders and Military members with
First Responders and MIlitary Appreciation Day, sponsored by
American Commerce Bank.
Senior Night with the Wolves will be on Wednesday, February 28 and will be
Recreation Night with UWG Basketball as well as Central Lions Night with the Wolves sponsored by
United Community Bank. Local recreation kids will be allowed free admission by wearing their jersey to the game. Central Lions Night will be coordinated through the local schools, so reach out to your administration to register for a free ticket for your Central Lion.
