Wolves Travel South for Battle with FAMU

CARROLLTON, Ga- Coming off a historic night in the City of Dreams on Wednesday, the West Georgia Women's Basketball team heads to Tallahassee looking to keep the momentum rolling against the Florida A&M Rattlers on Sunday.

UWG (5-4) travels to Florida for a non-conference matchup with FAMU (0-9), marking the Wolves' final road game of the non-conference season and look to get their first road win of the year.

West Georgia enters this matchup fresh off a historic 116-21 victory over the Wesleyan Wolves, during which they set three program records. The largest margin of victory, most points scored in a single game, and fewest points allowed.

In the midst of their record-setting night, UWG showcased its offensive depth, with six players scoring in double figures. Jasmine Jones, Sydne Tolbert, Gal-la Font, Grace O'Gara, Destiny Jones, and Becca Ledford each tallied 11 or more points in Wednesday's dominant victory.

Wednesday may not have been a big scoring night for Asia Donald, but the ASUN's second-leading scorer at 16.4 points per game remains a key force in West Georgia's offense as the Wolves start to gear up for conference play. Donald isn't the only player for West Georgia making waves in the ASUN leaderboards, Jasmine Jones who found her stride, scoring 21 points against Wesleyan moved back into the conference's top five scorers with 14.6 points per game. Destiny Jones who continues to control the boards, leads the ASUN with 9.3 rebounds per game, and Grace O'Gara and Sydne Tolbert rank third and fourth in assists at 4.1 per game, and 4.0.

Coming off a 76-51 loss to the Florida Gators last Wednesday, FAMU faces the Wolves looking to bounce back and get their first win of the season. The Rattlers feature three players averaging double figures, Camille Jackson with 12 points per game, Shaniyah McCarthy with 10.3, and Cornelia Ellington with 10, all of whom will be central to Florida A&M's offensive effort.

Sunday's matchup will be just the second meeting between these programs in two years, with the Wolves holding a 1-0 advantage after a 65-54 victory at the Coliseum last season.

Tip-off is set for 2:00 pm in Tallahassee, Florida.
