Men's Track and Field Team Concludes South Alabama Invitational

<p dir="ltr"><strong>BIRMINGHAM, Ala</strong>. -  The UWG men's track and field team has concluded today's meet in Birmingham at the South Alabama Invitational after competing in seven events. <br /> <br /> <strong>Men's One Mile</strong><br /> There were three West Georgia representatives that competed in the mile run. Felipe Barrios was the first of the three to cross the finish line as he placed 11th with a time of 4:24.41. Tim Feezor was next for the Wolves as he finished with a time of 4:34.42 while Gabriel Wyre recorded a time of 4:48.93. <br /> <br /> <strong>Men's 800m</strong><br /> Joshua Sleight, Anthony Garcia, Eduardo Ortiz represented UWG in the 800m race. Sleight finished with a time of 2:00.03, while Garcia finished with a time of 2:02.35. Ortiz was the last of the Wolves to reach the finish line with a time of 2:08.89.<br /> <br /> <strong>Men's 3000m</strong><br /> Griffin Stephens was the first of the three Wolves to cross the finish line as he placed in the top 10 finishing 9th with a time of 8:49.98, Bruno Valdez finished with a time of 8:57.46, and Connor Capolupo finished with a time of 10:10.92.<br /> <br /> <strong>Men's 5000m</strong><br /> Three Wolves competed in the 5000m relay. Mehari Van Der Riet was the first of the three Wolves to cross the finish line with a time of 15:42.26, Derek Gallardo was right behind him with a time of 15:44.59, and Brock Casey came in with a time of 17:24.19<br /> <br /> <strong>Men's 4x400</strong><br /> For the Men's 4x400 relay,  West Georgia placed 10th with a time of 3:35.77<br /> <br /> <strong>Men's High Jump</strong><br /> William Shawley was the lone competitor in the high jump. Shawley placed 23rd with a 6.19m jump.<br /> <br /> <strong>Men's Triple Jump</strong><br /> William Shawley finished a 12.75m jump placing 17th place. Richard Griffin also competed, leaping 12.23m and placing 19th.<br /> <br /> West Georgia will be back in Birmingham on February 15-16 for the GSC Indoor Championships.</p>
