BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UWG women's track and field team has concluded today's meet in Birmingham at the South Alabama Invitational after competing in 12 events.
Women's 60m
Kira Montefusco finished in the top 15 placing 14th with a time of 7.75 beating her previous time of 7.86 at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
Women's One Mile
Three Wolves were representatives in the Women's One Mile Run. Joycelyn Tifrea was the first of the three Wolves to cross the finish line with a time of 5:42.72 while Laney Pierce was behind her with a time of 5:44.65. Jordan Jarnot was the final Wolf coming in with a time of 6:29.06
Women's Triple Jump
Four Wolves competed in the Women's Triple Jump. Haley Trammel had a day as she placed second overall with a 11.98m jump. T'oni Birden was in the top five as well placing fourth with a 11.63m jump. Taylor Hampton finished with a 10.65m jump, and Amaya Hammel came in with a 9.60m jump.
Women's Shot Put
Three West Georgia representatives competed in the shot put event. Melita-Marie Roachford placed 16th with a throw of 11.82m while Dru Green was next with a 11.60m throw, placing 17th. Kyla Ford had a 10.82m throw, placing 23rd. All three improved their throws from the previous meet.
Women's 200m
Kira Montefusco was the lone competitor in the 200m run finishing with a time of 26.19.
Women's 400m
Two Wolves competed in the 400m with Chloe Leblanc crossing the finish line with a time of 1:01.60. Maniyah Thomas came in after, recording a time of 1:04.62.
Women's 800m
Kathrin Maurer placed 28th with a time of 2:34.79. Joycelyn Tifrea was the next one to cross the finish line at a time of 2:41.90, placing 30th. Stephanie Beltran was the last Wolf to finish placing 34th with a time of 2:47.35.
Women's 3000m
UWG had three competitors that competed in the 3000m. Kristal McQueen was in the top 10 placing seventh with a time of 10:26.57, Catherine Greer finished in the top 15 placing 12th with a time of 11:05.87. Madeline Gaskins placed 22nd with a time of 12:06.64
Women's 4x400
For the Women's 4x400 relay, the team placed 14th with a time of 4:12.02.
Women's High Jump
Two Wolves competed in the Women's High Jump. Olivia Fulford tied for 13th place with a 1.59m jump. Alexis Doll placed 20th with a 1.49m jump.
Women's Long Jump
Three Wolves were representatives in the Women's Long Jump. T'oni Birden and Taylor Hampton placed fifth finishing with a 5.70m jump. Dasani Minter finished in 22nd place with a 5.01m jump.
Women's Weight Throw
There were three Wolves that competed in the Weight Throw. Melita Marie Roachford finished in 16th place with a 14.97m throw. Kyla Ford and Dru Green finished 24th and 25th, respectively. Ford finished with a 14.35m throw, and Green finished with a 14.22m throw.
West Georgia will be back in Birmingham on February 15-16th for the GSC Indoor Championships.
