CARROLLTON, Ga - The UWG men's track and field team completed the final day of the 2024 UWG Legends Invitational on Saturday.
It was a great day for the Wolves as a whole, as they scored 228 points which was first out of all groups.
SPRINTSÂ
Jeremiah Giddens was in the top-20 for West Georgia in the 100m, finishing with a time of 10.87. Trevor Fair was next, finishing with a time of 11.51 while Matthew Brunner had a time of 11.57.
Giddens also competed in the 200m, finishing with a time of 22.18.
DISTANCE
There were four Wolves that competed in the Men's 800m. Joshua Sleight placed eighth with a time of 1:57.88 while Tim Feezor was next for UWG with a time of 1:59.08. Anthony Garcia had a time of 2:00.45 and Mehari Van der Riet had a time of 2:01.42.
In the Men's 3000m Steeple, Gabriel Wyre finished with a time of 10:38.24. Connor Capolupo had a time of 11:29.94, and Eduarado Ortiz had a time of 11:29.94.
Derek Gallardo had a day in the Men's 5000m Seeded, as he placed second with a time of 15:17.25. Bruno Valdez was next for West Georgia as he finished with a time of 15:24.29.
JUMPS
There were three Wolves that placed seventh-ninth in the Men's Long Jump. Trevor Fair was seventh with a 6.58m jump, Brunner had a 6.46m jump, and William Shawley had a 6.38m jump. Corey Rooks finished with a 6.15m jump, while Richard Griffin had a 5.87m jump.
Brunner was the lone representative in the High Jump, as he finished with a 1.75m jump.
THROWS
There were two UWG representatives to compete in the Discus throw. Brunner had a 23.35m throw, and Joshua Still had a 20.55m throw.
In the Men's Javelin Throw, Hans Urizar had a 38.16m throw. Still was next with a 36.62m throw while Clay Chilcutt finished with a 29.16m throw. Tristen Farmer had a 25.90m throw.
West Georgia is back in action on Next Saturday, April 13th at the Alice Coachman Invitational at Albany State University.Â
