HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The UWG women's golf team continued to roll through their fall schedule on Monday, shooting 296 and 291 to sit tied for fourth place at The Judson at Hattiesburg Country Club.
Emma Baier led the way for the Wolves, shooting an opening round 72 followed by a three-under 69 in the second. The Ecuadorian made two birdies and an eagle in round one to finish even par and rolled in five birdies in the afternoon round and sits in fifth place.
UWG, 22 shots out of the lead held by Tulane, is fifth among a field of 11 and has two golfers inside the top-15. Joining Baier at the top page of the leaderboard is Mexico native Sofia Mondragon. She shot an even-par 72 followed by a 73 and rolled in a total of seven birdies on the day and sits in 14th.
Next on the leaderboard for the Wolves is Sophie Dhaliwal and Hannah Barrett. Dhaliwal opened with a 77 and then followed that up with a two-over par 74. Barrett shot 76 in round one and then came back with an afternoon 75.
UWG trails host school Southern Miss and Central Arkansas in second and third place while leading notables such as North Alabama and Austin Peay.
The final round is set for tomorrow from Hattiesburg Country Club.
