UWG Volleyball Host Hatters and FGCU Eagles This Weekend

CARROLLTON, Ga. - Coming off back-to-back road trips to Charlotte and Nashville, UWG volleyball returns home to host Stetson on Friday (Oct. 31) at 6 p.m. and Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday (Nov. 2) at 12 p.m. Both matches are streaming on ESPN+ with links tagged above.

In the Wolves (2-21, 0-10 ASUN) most recent match, middle blocker Sanai Young made history by tallying her 352nd career block, ranking her fifth all-time in school history. Currently, she leads the Pack with 58 this year. Speaking of the UWG defense, libero Olivia Kremer continues to rank in the ASUN top-ten for digs. Right now, Kremer's team-high 264 digs place her tenth in the league. Joining Kremer on the ASUN leaderboard is setter Addy Franz, who has totaled a ninth-best in conference 498 assists. Looking at Franz's game log, the freshman has tallied ten or more assists in 21 of her 23 matches played this season. As a team, the Wolves have posted a .124 hitting percentage and a .889 reception percentage.

For the Hatters (8-14, 4-6 ASUN), Stetson is led in scoring by outside hitter Zuzanna Bury with 391 points and 342 kills, which also leads the ASUN. In her 22 matches played, the Towson transfer has recorded 20 or more points 10 times, and is currently riding a four-match streak in which she surpassed this mark. In the Hatters' most recent match, Bury recorded a career-high 29.5 points and 27 kills. Against the Wolves earlier this season (Oct. 5), Bury tallied 17 points and 13 kills in the Hatters' 3-0 win. Stetson leads the all-time series 3-0, having beaten the Wolves twice last year and once this season. As a team, Stetson posts a .187 hitting percentage and a .913 reception percentage this season. 

Looking at FGCU (13-8, 7-3 ASUN), the Eagles are led by outside hitter Julija Grubisic Cabo with 311.5 points and 275 kills, which ranks her third in the conference in points and fifth in kills. In the Eagles' 3-0 win over the Wolves earlier this year (Oct. 3), Cabo posted one of her lowest scoring performances of the season with 11 points and 10 kills, a mark that she has surpassed 16 times this season. Another Eagle ranking in the ASUN top-ten is middle blocker Erica Muhizi, who leads the league with 81 total blocks. In the Eagles' most recent game, the freshman recorded a career-high nine blocks, which is tied for the 21st-best performance nationally in a four-set match this season. As a team, the Eagles post a .247 hitting percentage and a .926 reception percentage this season. Currently, FGCU leads the all-time series 3-0, having beaten the Wolves twice last season and once earlier this year.
