GREENVILLE, NC – It was another historic finish for the UWG women's golf team as a solid final round secured their best 54-hole score of the young season, while tying a school record with a final score of 890.

The Wolves' final round 291 was fueled by a five-under round of 67 by Hannah Barrett whose Tuesday round was the second-best 18-hole score in program history. It also vaulted the Wolves up from tenth to eighth in the final standings and was the fourth lowest score in the field on Tuesday.

"Today we had another chance to prove our progress. The team executed the plan very well today," said head coach Will Snodgrass after his team's Tuesday. "Obviously, Hannah had an exceptional tournament, but this was a complete team effort.  I am so proud of the group."

Barrett continued her stellar start to the season, firing a 67 that featured six birdies, including her first and final holes, and just one bogey. The junior from Richmond Hill posted a fifth-place finish and was named to the All-Tournament team. Barrett has had two fifth-place finishes and a 12th-place finish this season while averaging 72.4 through six rounds of play.

Erin Sullivan finished with an even-par round on Tuesday, making three birdies. She finished in 53rd place, just one stroke behind freshman Sophie Dhaliwal who shot a 76 in the final round. Dhaliwal finished in 52nd place.

It was a final round 79 for Emma Baier that the Wolves threw out for their team score, but it gave Baier a 57th-place finish individually. Sofia Mondragon shot her lowest round of the event in the final round, posting a 76.

"There is more to come from this team," added Snodgrass. "The chemistry is great, and the desire to succeed it there."

The Wolves jumped ahead of ASUN foe Jacksonville as well as Marshall on the final day, finishing in eighth. East Carolina, the tournament host, won the event by five strokes with a 16-under par team total.

UWG is back in action next week, traveling to Jonesboro, Arkansas for the Lady Red Wolves Classic held at Sage Meadows Country Club.
