Wolves Set to Take Final Road Trip of 2025 Season

11/3/2025 12:41:00 PM

CARROLLTON, Ga. - After suffering a tight 3-2 home loss to the top-ranked FGCU Eagles, UWG volleyball hits the pavement this weekend for the final road swing of the season, taking on Jacksonville on Friday (Nov. 7) at 7 p.m. before facing North Florida the following day (Nov. 9) at 6 p.m. Both matches are streaming on ESPN+ with live video and stat links tagged above.

In West Georgia's (2-23, 0-12 ASUN) latest match, multiple Wolves put together highlight performances. Outside hitter Valiree Schmus posted a career-high 20 points and 17 kills, marking the 12th time this season the freshman broke into the double-digits in scoring. Currently, Schmus leads the Wolves with 259.5 points, 223 kills and 23 service aces on the season. Another Wolf who achieved a personal best this past Sunday was right side hitter Rylee Henderson, who recorded a career-high 17 points and 16 kills. Through her 22 matches played, Henderson has tallied ten or more points five times. Joining in on the record-setting performances, setter Addy Franz posted a career-high 23 digs while leading the team with 43 assists, marking the seventh time this season the freshman recorded a double-double. Currently, Franz's team-high 587 assists places her seventh in the ASUN and second among all freshmen in the conference. As a team, UWG has recorded a .131 hitting percentage and a .894 reception percentage.

For Jacksonville (18-6, 9-3 ASUN), the Dolphins are led in scoring by outside hitter Rebekah Williams with 308.5 points, 253 kills and 36 service aces, good for third in the conference in aces and eighth in points and kills. Currently, there are three Dolphins in the ASUN top ten for aces, resulting in Jacksonville posting a league-best 172 aces. Going back to Williams, the Rutgers transfer is coming off a career-high performance in which she tallied 21.5 points and 20 kills in the Dolphins' 3-1 loss to Central Arkansas (Nov. 1). Another Dolphin making a splash this season is middle blocker Haley Yount. Through 24 matches, Yount has tallied 218 points and 164 kills while recording an ASUN-best .463 hitting percentage. In addition to leading the league in hitting percentage, Yount ranks fourth in total blocks with 95. Remarkably, the Dolphins have lost three of the last four games, which is half of their season's total losses (six) and all of their ASUN losses. Looking at their team stats, no one from their starting lineups is out, so it's unclear why the Dolphins have fallen into a skid as of late. Regardless, the team currently posts a .247 hitting percentage and a .919 reception percentage.

Looking at UNF (10-15, 4-8 ASUN), the Ospreys are led by opposite hitter Kendall Newbold with 300.5 points and 259 kills, ranking her ninth in the ASUN in both categories. In her 25 matches played, the Atlanta native has reached the double-digit mark in scoring 19 times. Another Osprey posting top-ten figures is middle blocker Yarimar Francis Garay, who places tied for second in the ASUN in blocks with 101 and ninth in hitting percentage with a .308 average. The Puerto Rican has achieved this excellent hitting percentage while tallying 252 points and 201 points. Notably, Garay tied her career-high of seven blocks in North Florida's 3-1 win over UWG earlier this year (Sept. 26). She has achieved this figure three times this season. Currently, the Ospreys are riding a two-game winning streak after securing 3-2 victories over Jacksonville (Oct. 30) and North Alabama (Nov. 2), but they will play Queens at home (Nov. 7) before facing UWG. As a team, UNF posts a .194 hitting percentage and a .914 reception percentage.

Looking at the all-time series, UWG trails 3-0 to Jacksonville and North Florida. This upcoming matchup marks the last time West Georgia will face either team this season.
