LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 2025-26 indoor track and field season began for the UWG women's track and field team on Saturday at the Commonwealth Opener in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Wolves had 17 top-five finishes, including seven podium finishes with Chloe LeBlanc and Dru Green each opening their seasons with second place finishes in one of their respective events.
LeBlanc's day was highlighted with a school record performance in the 600m run.

SPRINTS & HURDLES
The Wolves had five runners inside the top-20 in the 60m dash, led by Campbell Brown with a time of 7.72 which was good for fourth. Kellie Walker finished right behind her in fifth with a time of 7.77. In 17th was Elise Duncanson with a time of 8.09, followed by Jalia Long's 18th place time of 8.11. Rounding out those in the top-20 was Genesis Price with a time of 8.20.
In the 60m hurdles, Kierra McKenna took fourth with a time of 9.33 while Valeyna Renteria-Silva finished fifth in 9.59. Rounding out the UWG contingency in that event was Empress Malone with a time of 10.79.
Walker led the UWG showing in the 200m dash, finishing third with a time of 25.66. Brown was right behind her in fifth, crossing the line with a time of 25.85. Long took seventh in the 200m with Chloe LeBlanc taking 10th.
The 300m dash featured Elise Duncanson taking fifth with a time of 40.22 and Tykendra Daniel crossing the timeline in 40.80 for fifth place.
DISTANCE
LeBlanc was the only UWG runner in the 600m run, and the senior set a school record in the event, placing second with a time of 1:40.40.
THROWS
Two UWG throwers finished in the top five in weight throw. Dru Green had an impressive season debut, finishing third with a personal best 16.83m throw. Kyla Ford took fifth with a throw of 16.00m, also a personal best. Day Atkins finished 10th, hitting 13.98m with her best throw.
Green then went on to finish second in the shot put, tossing 12.60m in her best attempt, which was a personal best for her. Atkins also registered 12.60m in the shotput, but placed third after the second-throw was used as a tiebreaker. Ford also cleared 10m to finish in 11th place.
RELAYS
The Wolves had a third-place showing in the 4x400m relay, with the team of LeBlanc, Duncanson, Renteria-Silva, and Daniel running the race in 4:08.44.
JUMPS & VAULT
Freshman Bella Jones began her collegiate career with a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.45m. Amaya Hammel took fifth, posting a mark of 1.40m.
In the long jump, McKenna had the top mark for the Wolves, leaping 4.39m for an 11th-place finish. Gensis Price finished 13th with a distance of 4.03m.
Carleigh Bynum and Mallory Peavey finished fourth and fifth respectively in the pole vault. Bynum cleared 3.63m for her top mark while Peavey cleared 3.18m.
The final event of the day was the triple jump, with Jordan Kelly posting her best mark in her fifth attempt. She would place sixth with a top distance of 10.89m.
UP NEXT
West Georgia's next indoor meet isn't until the calendar flips to January. The Wolves will be in Birmingham, Alabama on January 17 in Samford's event at the Crossplex.
