LOUISVILLE, Ky. - UWG women's track and field wrapped up its first ever ASUN Indoor Championship finishing in eighth overall with 26 points.
The Wolves ended the weekend with sophomore
Carleigh Bynum being the lone UWG competitor to podium, a first in program history. Bynum took third in the pole vault with a jump of 3.42m.
Track
After qualifying for the finals yesterday with a time of 7.62, junior
Campbell Brown placed eighth overall in ASUN 60m finals, crossing the line at the 7.74 mark.
Sophomores
Kathrin Maurer and
Kristal McQueen raced step for step with each other in the 3000m. McQueen came in slightly ahead in 29th place with a time of 10.29.58 and Maurer crossed in 30th position with a time of 10.29.71.
Field
Moving to the field, UWG competed in the triple jump and the shot put.
In the triple, senior
Haley Trammell led the way with a jump of 11.67m to finish in fourth. Behind Trammell, freshman
Jordan Kelly came in 15th with a mark of 10.50m and sophomore
Amaya Hammel closed out the pack with a 18th place finish on a jump of 9.46m.
Freshman
Day Atkins, sophomore
Kyla Ford and senior
Chioma Uwaomah represented the Wolves in the shot put. Atkins led the charge with a throw of 12.81m to place seventh. Behind Atkins, Uwaomah placed 13th with a throw of 10.79m and Ford came in 16th with a toss of 10.47m.
