BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The men's track team for West Georgia competed again today in the UAB Green and Gold Invitational, after competing at UAB yesterday.
The day was well spent as more records were broken. These records included Abenezer Woellore in the 800m, Evan Beasley in the 600m, and Kasahn Rivers in the 200m. The men's 4x400m also broke a school record.
Following today's event, head coach
Ryan Bailey talked about this weekend's success, stating, "Our athletes broke over a dozen school records this weekend - not to mention dozens of Personal Best marks so I am extremely pleased, of course. My message to them all season is to strive to improve on something, no matter how small, every day. It seems they have been doing just that, and I couldn't be prouder of them."
Field Events
The UWG jumpers performed well today. In the high jump,
Isaiah McMichael reached a height of 1.91m and got 13th place.
In the long jump,
Godsfavor Adenuga jumped a distance of 6.68m and achieved 9th place.
Trevor Fair jumped a 5.75m in the long jump as well.
Ryane Martin Jr. set a personal best today in the triple jump with a distance of 12.89m.
William Shawley jumped 11.66m in the triple jump.
Connor McLain pole vaulted to a height of 4.40m, earning 6th place.
Samuel Hall reached a height of 3.95m in 11th place.
Nicholas Lane and Darius McNeal competed in the weight throw reaching distances of 13.24m and 11.99m.

Distance Events
A freshman duo competed in the 600m.
Evan Beasley earned 19th place with a time of 1:26.87. Beasley broke the previous school 600m record with this time. Trailing only a second behind him with a time of 1:27.15, was Soloman Johnson, who achieved 20th place.
In the 800m, Abenezer Woellore competed in the 800m with a time of 1:56.86, and got 10th place. Behind him, Jesse Baldwin and Chase Stephens finished with times of 2:05.02 and 2:05.44.
In the 1 mile,
Griffin Stephens ran a time of 4:20.11, earning 7th place and a personal best time. He was trailed by
Noah Anderson and Eduardo Ortiz with times of 4:26.51 and 4:27.71. Abenezer Woellore ran a 4:32.17.
Aiden Thaxton ran a personal best in the 3000m with a time of 8:54.45, earning 9th place.
Gabriel Wrye also achieved a personal best with a time of 9:15.43.
The 4x400m relay team broke a school record with a time of 3:19.58. The team consisted of Landon Chavonic, Johnathan Meadows, Treyvon Campbell, and Matthew Strickland.
