UWG Track and Field Completes Bulldog Relays

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Today marked the end of the West Georgia women's track and field team's three-day stay in Mississippi, wrapping up their events at the Bulldog Relays.

Campbell Brown, Carleigh Bynum and Dru Green set new records and Dasani Minter took first this meet. Brown set a new 100m school record on a time of 11.87 seconds, Bynum set a record in the pole vault with a jump of 3.70m, Dru Green set a discus record with a throw of 42.67 and Minter took first place in the long jump on a mark of 5.84m. Minter was the second UWG athlete to podium in a deep field this weekend. Yesterday, Tykendra Daniel took third place in the 400m with a time of 56

Throws

Kicking off the final day with the javelin throw, Jaycee Woods led the way for the Wolves with a mark of 34.55m to earn 15th. Following Woods, Alexis Doll threw 24.00m to earn 21st and Kyla Ford earned 22nd with a throw of 22.04m.

Day Atkins led UWG in the shot put with a throw of 13.03m to earn sixth place. Behind Atkins, Dru Green's 11.72m throw earned her eighth and Chioma Uwaomah's shot put mark of 10.73m earned her 13th. 

Jumps
As previously noted, Dasani Minter placed first in the long jump with a mark of 5.84m. Behind Minter, Taylor Hampton placed fifth with a mark of 5.48m, Alexis Doll took 15th on a jump of 4.98m and Chloe Leblanc placed 25th with a mark of 4.30m. 

Relays

In the 4x100, West Georgia's team of Shamiya Perry, Tykendra Daniel, Dasani Minter and Campbell Brown placed fifth with a time of 47.93.

The 4x400 team was made up of Jaeva Ridley, Chloe Leblanc, Shamiya Perry and Tykendra Daniel. This pack of Wolves placed third with a time of 3:57.28, notably, between the University of Alaabma's A and B teams. 


Sprints and Hurdles
The first sprint of the day was the 100m. Campbell Brown led the way with a 11.87 second finish to earn eighth place. Dasani Minter placed 26th with a time of 12.75. Jordan Kelly finished 31st, crossing the line at 13.34 seconds. 

In the 200m, Campbell Brown placed 11th on a time of 24.72.

Alexis Doll posted a team-best time of 14.97 seconds in the 100m hurdles, earning herself 12th place. Olivia Fulford placed 13th, crossing the line at the 15.24 mark. Chioma Uwaomah posted a time of 16.07 to earn 18th.


In the 400m hurdles, Chloe Leblanc led the way with a time of 1:05.18 to earn fifth place. Olivia Fulford followed just behind, crossing the line at 1:06.73 in seventh place.


Distance 
Kathrin Maurer crossed the line at the 2:26.99 mark in 19th position in the 800m run. Following Maurer, Kristel McQueen placed 24th on a time of 2:31.13. 

In the 1500m run, Kristal McQueen took 22nd on a time of 4:56.22, Jordan Jarnot placed 32nd with a time of 5:29.49 and Linda Vasquez rounded out the pack with a 37th place finish on a time of 5:39.89.

UP NEXT

The Wolves return to Carrollton next weekend to host the team's first-ever meet as a Division I program. The UWG Legends is set to take place April 4-5 at the UWG Track and Field Complex.
