UWG Women's Basketball Adds Former Carrollton Standout Jasmine Jones

CARROLLTON, Ga. - Head women's basketball coach Joanna Reitz has inked a hometown product who is returning to Carrollton to wear the red and blue, announcing today the signing of Jasmine Jones to the 2025-26 roster.

Jones, a 2022 graduate of Carrollton High School spent two seasons at Chipola Junior College in Florida before playing in 20 games with 15 starts for the University of New Orleans in 2024-25.

"Welcome home to Jasmine Jones! We are so excited that Jas gets to finish out her college career here at UWG," Reitz said of the newest member of her team, "She will make an immediate impact as a versatile scorer. At 5-11, she shoots over 40 percent from three and will present some match-up problems for our opponents."

At UNO as a junior, Jones averaged 8.8 points per game, shooting 42.1 percent from the field while going 22-for-52 (42.3 percent) from long range. Jones added 2.9 rebounds per game and dished out nearly an assist per contest.

Her sophomore season at Chipola, Jones played in 27 games and scored 16.4 points per game and had clips of 45.9 percent from the field and 42.4 percent from three. Jones pulled down 5.8 rebounds per game and dished out 2.3 assists per game on a team that went 24-8.

A year prior, Jones played in 22 games and averaged 3.1 points and 1.3 rebounds per game as a freshman.

"Jasmine truly fits the mold of what we look for," added Reitz, "A motivated student, a great teammate, and a fierce competitor. She also complements our strong core of returning players really well."

At Carrollton High in 2021-22, Jones helped the Trojans to a 24-5 overall record and a Region Title.

Jones is the second signee for Reitz and the Wolves for this current class. She joins Parris Parham who the Wolves signed back in November.
