CARROLLTON, Ga. - UWG baseball heads to Atlanta to rematch the Georgia State University Panthers this Tuesday. First pitch at the GSU Baseball Complex is slated for 6 p.m.

Coming off of a series loss to UNF this past weekend, the Wolves (17-20, 8-10 ASUN) are set to rematch the Panthers (23-18, 9-9 SBC) on the road in the series' 18th ever meeting. UWG leads the series 12-4-1 with the Wolves taking the latest game 12-11 at Cole Field.

While it is not confirmed, one player who may get the start for the Wolves is freshman Maverick Torres (0-0). In eight frames across six appearances, Torres posts a solid 1.13 ERA with six strikeouts. In the Wolves' last two midweek games, the righty struck out three batters and allowed one earned run through four frames.

Another pitcher the UWG faithful may see on the mound this Tuesday is junior righty Mason Phillips (0-0). In eight innings across six games, Phillips posts a 3.38 ERA with 13 strikeouts. In his pair of appearances this past week, the junior allowed one earned run and struck out ten batters through 4.2 frames.

As a team, UWG has recorded a 5.87 ERA while the Panthers post a 6.38 ERA.

It is unclear who will start for GSU this Tuesday. One Panther that may get the nod is senior righty Brian Crooms (1-1). In 16.1 innings across 11 games, Crooms holds a 4.41 ERA with 22 punchouts.

In the Wolves' latest game against GSU, redshirt freshman Jake Hembree (1-1, 1 SV) got the start for the Panthers. In four frames, Hembree struck out four Wolves and allowed four earned runs. In 32.2 frames through 12 appearances this season, Hembree posts a 5.79 ERA with 42 strikeouts.

Moving to the batter's box, both teams record a .271 average.

Continuing to lead the Wolves is center fielder Cooper Prince, posting a .350 average. In 140 at-bats, the senior has tallied a team-high 49 hits, 38 runs, 13 multi-hit games and five triples, while accounting for a UWG-best .452 on-base percentage.

Another Wolf continuing to shine at the plate is first baseman Carter Dierdorf. In a team-high 143 at-bats, the junior has accumulated 45 hits, while leading UWG with 39 RBIs, 14 doubles and 12 homers. This is in addition to posting a team-best 1.090 OPS and .678 slugging percentage. Over the past week, Dierdorf crushed home runs in his very first at-bat in back-to-back games.

Looking at the Panthers, GSU is led by senior second baseman Kaleb Freeman with a .360 average. In 150 at-bats, Freeman has tallied 54 hits, 51 runs, 40 RBIs, 23 doubles (first in the nation) and 13 homers. These outstanding numbers lead to the senior posting a remarkable 1.307 OPS, .787 slugging and a .520 OBP. Against the Wolves earlier this season, Freeman went 1-for-5 at the plate with one run and three strikeouts.

Moving to the field, UWG has committed 44 errors while posting a .965 fielding percentage. For the Panthers, GSU has committed 47 errors while fielding at a .967 percentage.
