CARROLLTON, Ga. - The final tournament of the 2024-25 UWG men's golf season is this week as the Wolves prep for play at the 2025 ASUN Championships at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Georgia.
The championships are slated to begin on Tuesday, April 22 and will conclude on Thursday, April 24.
It's the same venue UWG competed on in their final conference championship of the Division II era, but only one player in Shannon Lipham's lineup played in that tournament. Junior Tyler Nesci was in the Wolves' lineup for rounds two and three at Kinderlou Forest last season, shooting rounds of 77 and 81.
The remainder of UWG's lineup this week is made up of freshmen in Milton Wallin, Max Winnersjo, Thomas Romani, and Luke Able, although Lipham does have sophomore Will Sutton on the trip and available as a sub.
And while those four will be making their conference championship debut, Luke Able does have experience at Kinderlou Forest, playing two rounds there in the State Championships as a high school senior, shooting 65-76 to place second.
Two teams enter the ASUN Championships ranked in the top-100, led by 54th-ranked Florida Gulf while North Florida, North Alabama, and Stetson give the league five schools inside the top-115 teams in Division I.
