VALDOSTA, Ga. - Round one of the 2025 ASUN Championships is in the books, and the UWG men's golf team opened with a 298, led by a two-under round from freshman Milton Wallin.
It was nearly a bogey-free round for Wallin who sits in 13th after day one. The freshman bogeyed his opening hole, the par four 10th, but then made three birdies to turn at two-under and then made nine pars to close out the 70. By the end of the round, Wallin had made 13 consecutive pars.
Three strokes behind Wallin was Max Winnersjo who made three birdies on his way to a first round 73 which puts him in 39th place. Luke Able shot 76 and had just three holes over par on the day, but he will begin his second round in 52nd place.
Both Tyler Nesci and Thomas Romani shot 79 on Tuesday and are tied for 58th place.
As a team, UWG sits in 12th place, two strokes behind Eastern Kentucky. Central Arkansas lit it up on Tuesday, shooting a 17-under team score fueled by an eight-under 64 from Noah Blaickner.
Round two from Kinderlou Forest is set for tomorrow in Valdosta.
