Green and Leblanc Break School Records in Carolina

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - West Georgia women's track and field's final day at the Catamount Classic was highlighted by record-setting performances by Dru Green in the discus and Chloe Leblanc in 400m hurdles. 

For the third straight week, the UWG discus record was broken. In her very first throw, Green launched the discus 45.66m, earning her first place and breaking the previous record of 45.43m recently set by Day Atkins

Chloe Leblanc's first place time of 101.22 in the 400m hurdles was the fastest in school history, breaking Amina Saunders' mark of 101.31 set back in 2019.

THROWS
Alongside Green on the podium, Day Atkins' 44.93m discus throw earned her third, Kyla Ford took 19th with a mark of 33.27m, Daja Freeman placed 24th with her 31.52m throw and Chioma Uwaomah's 28.61m throw earned her 25th

Closing out the Catamount Classic throwing events with another statement showing, UWG placed four Wolves in the top-ten of the shot put. Leading the way in sixth position was Jaycee Woods with a toss of 11.90m. Following Woods, Atkins' 11.89m throw placed her seventh, Green's 11.49m mark earned her ninth and Ford rounded out the top-ten with a 11.36m mark. Freeman followed just behind with a throw of 11.32m to earn 11th and Uwaomah's 10.33m throw placed her 18th. 

JUMPS AND VAULTS
In the high jump, Olivia Fulford's mark of 1.61m earned her sixth. Following Fulford, Alexis Doll placed 14th on a jump of 1.46m and Amaya Hammel placed 16th with a 1.46m mark.

Haley Trammell's mark of 11.61m led the Wolves in the triple jump and earned her second place. Jordan Kelly followed with a 10.29m mark to position in 10th. 

RELAYS
The Wolves 4x100m team's 47.75 earned UWG fourth overall. The Pack included Shamiya Perry, Tykendra Daniel, Taylor Hampton and Campbell Brown.

SPRINTS AND HURDLES
In the 400m finals, Shamiya Perry crossed the line in 18th with a time of 1:01.30 and Jaeva Ridley placed 21st with a mark of 1:02.28.

As mentioned, Leblanc took first in the 400m hurdles, who was followed by Elizabeth Osborne in ninth at the 1:08.81 mark.   

DISTANCE 
In the 800m, Jordan Jarnot and Laney Pierce placed back-to-back in 32nd and 33rd with times of 2:33.84 and 2:34.34. Linda Vasquez crossed at 2:43.93 in 42nd position. 

UP NEXT
Today's meet marks the last of the 2025 regular season. The Wolves head to Jacksonville to compete in the ASUN Outdoor Championship next month (May 15-17).
