Wolves Head to Florida for Final Weekend of Season

5/1/2025 2:52:00 PM

CARROLLTON, Ga. - It's the final week of the 2025 UWG softball season and the Wolves wrap up the campaign on the road at Stetson for a three-game series.

The Wolves and Hatters begin their series on Friday, May 2 at 4 p.m. before playing game two at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night. The season and series wrap up on Saturday at 2 p.m.

SCOUTING THE WOLVES
West Georgia (12-37, 4-17 ASUN) looks to end their inaugural Division I season on a high note and avoid ending the year on a losing streak. The Wolves have lost six consecutive games including the last three conference games.

All eyes are on Blaire Bizette this weekend as with three games remaining in her career, the senior is batting .392 and currently ahead of the career average record which is .376 set by Nicole Yancy from 2011-14. Bizette sits on 20 career home runs as well which has only been done by 10 other players in program history. One more this week would tie her for eighth all-time.

Defense has been a weakness for the Wolves as they lead the ASUN in errors with 81, averaging 1.65 errors per game.

UWG's pitching staff has a 5.60 ERA this season and are led by a 3.61 mark from Calli Hardison who has a 3.10 ERA against ASUN foes.

SCOUTING THE HATTERS
Stetson (27-26, 11-10 ASUN) has already clinched a spot in the ASUN Tournament and are playing to improve their seeding as they enter the weekend two game behind FGCU for the second spot in the graphite division. FGCU closes their season this weekend at home against North Florida.

Leading the Hatters at the dish is Addison Foster with a .390 average while Amber Chumley leads their team in home runs. Foster has alos drawn a team-high 25 walks to post a .481 OBP and is a threat to be on second quickly after reaching first as she has 15 stolen bases on the season.

In the circle, Stetson has a solid one-two punch in Ava Braswell and Caitlin Kulczyski. Braswell has a 3.28 ERA while Kulczyski has a 3.37 ERA.
