Reitz Announces Signing of Anya McKenzie

CARROLLTON, Ga. - Head Women's Basketball Coach Joanna Reitz announced today a new member to the pack with the new addition of Anya McKenzie to the Wolves' roster for the 2025-26 season.

McKenzie, a proud native of Luton, England is making her arrival to the City of Dreams by way of Tarleton State University, where she spent two seasons with the Texans. The incoming junior transfer came off the bench in limited time last season, averaging just above two points per game, while nearly shooting at a 40 percent clip, where she was a reliable consistent contributor making meaningful impact on the court.

"We're thrilled to add Anya to the Pack! Anya is the paint presence we've been looking for through our spring recruiting," said Reitz. "Her defensive toughness and elite rebounding ability will make her an asset early on and we are looking to her to contribute immediately."

At 6-2, McKenzie averaged just over six minutes per game in 17 games played last year, scoring 16 points, grabbing 32 rebounds and had four blocks on the year. She was also named to the Academic All-WAC Team for the Winter in 2025. As a freshman, she played in just four games, scoring her first collegiate point against Seattle while pulling down a season-high four rebounds with three blocked shots in that game.

"Her length, quickness, and versatility are the perfect combination to affect shots & will give us some much-needed rim protection," added Reitz. Her skill set complements our current roster really well, she aligns with the direction of our program, and she is type of student-athlete we recruit here, which are motivated students, great teammates, and fierce competitors."

McKenzie is the fifth signee for Reitz and the Wolves for this current class. She joins Parris Parham, Jasmine Jones, Tayah Morgan and Asia Donald to make up the current members of the 2025 class.
