Women's Basketball Adds Georgia Gray

CARROLLTON, Ga. - UWG women's basketball head coach Joanna Reitz has added another piece to the 2025-26 roster, announcing the signing of Georgia Gray.

Gray comes to UWG with one year of eligibility after spending the 2024-25 season at App State. The Melbourne, Australia native played in nine games off the bench for the Mountaineers and also played at Idaho in 2023-24 as well as two seasons at Dodge City Community College in Kansas.

"We're thrilled to add Georgia to our roster," said Reitz, "Our staff has been working hard this spring to add paint presence to the group. In addition to Anya, Georgia provides that! She is a blue-collar player and willing to do the dirty work- whatever the team needs- runs the floor hard, sets great screens, and rebounds in traffic. She aligns with our culture and what we're building here."

While at Dodge City, Gray played in 60 games and made 55 starts while averaging 5.9 points per game for her career. As a sophomore in 2022-23, Gray averaged 7.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting 53.5 percent from the field. The 6-3 forward helped Dodge City to a 29-4 record that season, reaching the NJCAA National Tournament.

Gray's club team in Australia won bronze in the Victorian State Team Basketball U20 Championships. Prior to her collegiate basketball career, Gray was a six-time high school champion and school record holder in the backstroke.

Reitz has now added six players to the 2025-26 roster. Gray is the second player signed who played at Dodge City, joining fellow Aussie Tayah Morgan who signed back in early May
